Ruslans Smolonskis is a former Latvian race walker with extensive experience in high-level sport.
Throughout his athletic career, Ruslans specialized in the 50 km race walk, while also competing in shorter distances. His athletic CV is truly impressive — participation in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, several World and European Championships, and strong results on the international stage.

One of Ruslans’ greatest achievements is 4th place at the European Championships in 2021 in the 50 km distance — a result that reflects his exceptional endurance, discipline, and ability to compete among world-class athletes. Ruslans ended his professional race walking career in 2022, but sport continues to play a very important role in his life.

After finishing his professional career, Ruslans has turned his focus toward hybrid sport alongside his office work — combining strength training, running, and different endurance distances. This year, one of his main athletic goals is to complete HYROX in under 60 minutes — an ambitious challenge that requires strength, speed, endurance, and excellent overall fitness. 🚀
